The Friendship Choir is a friendly, accessible singing group open to all, especially to those that have reached retirement, and was set up in 2015. You don’t have to read music and the organisers say that if you’re thinking ‘it sounds fun, but I really can’t sing’, you should definitely go along – all levels of ability are genuinely welcome, especially beginners. Young and old are also equally welcome. The choir sings a variety of music, including 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s pop, jazz, folk, gospel, world music and classical. The aim is simply to have fun and enjoy singing.

We rehearse every Monday afternoon from 1.30 to 2.30 at the House of Friendship, 208 High Street, Lewes. Cost: £3/Session

There is also a Friendship Choir for people with memory problems and their carers every Thursday afternoon from 1.30 to 2.30. Cost: £2/Session.
