PLEASE NOTE that we have a new monthly group run by the East Sussex Hearing Support Team on the 3rd  Wednesday of each month. They will be offering advice, support and information for anyone with a hearing loss, including advice on the maintenance of hearing aids. Do come and meet others who are hard of hearing. Our next meeting is on Weds 17th November in our Lounge, 10.30 to 12 noon.

MONDAYS 1.30 pm to 2.30pm The Friendship Choir, led By James Geer.  Open to all who enjoy singing. We are now meeting in the lounge. £5 per session.

TUESDAYS 10.30 pm to 12 noon: Craft Group. This group meets in the Lounge – bring some knitting, crochet, tapestry or other craft. Enjoy a chat and maybe learn new skills.

WEDNESDAYS at 2.15pm to 3.15 pm.

Qi Gong stimulates the body’s energy levels through postural exercises and slow gentle movements grounded in ancient Chinese practices. It exercises but does not tire joints, tendons and muscles and uses the mind to support the body. It is really beneficial for many physical health conditions and also for combatting stress and fatigue and boosting mood. Come for a taster session – you may need to go on our waiting list. £30 for 6 sessions.

THURSDAYS at 10.30 am to 11.30 am : Extend – Music and Movement Class, with Ffion Wilkes. This group is meeting in the Lounge – come and improve your fitness now that life is opening up again! Gentle exercises to music. £4 per session. Again, do come for a taster.

FRIDAYS from 10.30 am to 12 noon: Our next Coffee Morning will be on Friday 26th November , and will be in aid of The Chestnut Tree Children’s Hospice – do come along.

SNOOKER  We have a snooker room with a 3/4 size snooker table upstairs, which may be used by members any time we are open: £5 for a morning’s play.

Dates for Your Diary

On Friday 3rd December there is the chance to have an Energy Bill Health Check with volunteers from Lewes Climate Hub, who will be at the House of Friendship from 10 am to 1pm to give you advice if your energy company has gone bust, or to see if you are on the right tariff. They will also be able to advise you about the Warm Home Tariff. Do call in and make the most of this helpful offer!

Our Coffee Morning in aid of The Chestnut Tree Children’s Hospice  on 26th November has raised £100 for this good cause. They have thanked us “for helping to provide hospice care for local children with short and precious lives” – so many thanks to all who braved the weather to support this.

Room Hire

If you would like to hire one of our rooms, please email us with your plans or ring us between 10.30am and 12 noon, as social distancing rules mean that space will be limited, and also various procedures will need to be followed, eg sanitising, recording contact details, etc.
